So while the new editions of my favorite fashion magazines have arrived and emphasized what’s going in and what’s going out, I’m happy to report that I have a wardrobe that is simply classic and therefore not much change is necessary. With the exception apparently of knitted boots…I’m guessing that is in reference to Uggs? Well no duh! The official start of Spring is weeks away! Who could possibly be thinking about boots with fur when the weather is desperately trying to tell you to save up for those pedis because from here on out we are looking at strappy sandals and flip flops!
These fabulous Valentino creations came in on my mom’s birthday, which is only a week and a half or so before Christmas. They were pink and sparkly and had my name written all over it. Being the believer in a higher being that I am, I assumed this was what my mom wanted me to have for Christmas. Whether they be a gift from the fashion gods, her or both, either way THANK YOU for sending them my way!
Ok, now that my rant is over, back to my fabulous wardrobe. It is no secret my favorite color is pink. And try as I might it is impossible to conceal my love for Wildfox. To my boyfriend, I TRY DESPERATELY to refrain from adding more of these pieces to my closet. But when a pink Wildfox sweater with leopard prints gets marked down and the sweaters are BUY ONE GET TWO FREE plus an employee discount, how the heck am I supposed to say no? Plus, in my defense somehow my last pink elephant Wildfox sweater got lost. I don’t know how that happens but sometimes pieces get lost in the dark abyss otherwise known as that space behind my closet and I don’t plan on attacking that despite the buried treasures that lurk in the unknown until we move later this spring. Plus, I knew it would pair perfectly with my new favorite ankle booties by Valentino. Pink and Wildfox, make a combo that will always be as classic to me as peanut butter and jelly.

So if you follow any other So. Cal fashion bloggers I’m sure you’ve noticed a trend (and not that exactly of a accessory kind.) While the rest of the U.S has been burdened with snow, we’ve been burdened with digging out our Spring apparel out pre-maturely. Seriously! Goodbye heavy coats and sweaters and helloo sunshine!
Being the So. Cal gal I am always make sure I have some tanks and spring apparel at the ready and first and foremost in my dresser drawers. So today when I read the temperature was mid 80’s I practically ran and grabbed my favorite Free People tube top. I’ve been waiting for just the right opportunity to wear my Clover Canyon drawstring pants.
I’ve been in love with Clover Canyon ever since I saw Khloe Kardashian wearing one of their signature print dresses last spring. But alas, after trying on several styles and fits of various dresses and pants, I finally committed to these awesome pants which I can’t wait to pair with different accessories later this spring! I’m thinking headbands, hats, bulky jewelry! The possibilities for accessories on just this one piece alone are endless! When one piece alone inspires a multitude of options that ladies and gents is what I call a fabulous investment! Not to mention all the fabulous colors and prints that work with pretty much any season!
This blog shoot was by far one of my favorites. See, my boyfriend shows acts of love on a daily basis, but today I discovered he truly loves me and accepts the fact that I am a girl who loves her shoes. Had it not been for him, I would have walked to this location barefoot for fear of ruining my beloved Louboutins. He thought quick and carried me on his back instead. Not to brag or anything but my boyfriend is pretty much the best.
Dear sunshine, won’t you stay awhile? I have too many fabulous spring pieces and they’re getting tired of just hanging around in my closet.
This outfit inspired my love for Clover Canyon.

So perhaps it’s because I’m no longer able to shop at Limited Too (Or Justice For Girls) I guess is what it’s called these days, that I’ve decided it’s time to sophisticate my wardrobe with some classic pieces. Don’t get me wrong! I still love my sparkle and fluffy dresses but there comes a time in one’s life where eventually you have to embrace reality and except the fact that tutu’s are no longer acceptable for every day wear. I’ll just have to save those for the weekends I’m off.
I’m obsessed with Equipment! The go to label for mens favorite button down look for women. And how cute is this top! A bow! I can still achieve the mature chic look women have loved since forever, while still maintaining my favorite girly accents. And I guess I’m embracing the whole girly masculine look because I invested in my first pair of boyfriend jeans. And when I need to infuse my own style that can only be described as “Just Jess” there’s always super cute accessories! Thank you Forever 21 for making fun and affordable statement pieces to jazz up even the most basic pieces fun!

Can you believe it was only a week ago that I was frolicking in 80 degree weather on the beach? To those of you whose winters consist of subzero temperatures, you’re probably going to read this and shake your head the whole time at my claim that this temperature is freezing. As a So Cal girl anything below 75 degrees and I begin to complain I’m in danger of dying of hypothermia. Crazy but I live in Southern California for a reason. I enjoy my sunny days.
I’ve been enjoying my lightweight sweaters, but today I had to bust out the heavy knit because it was only about 60 degrees outside. It may have well been below subzero. This is the time of year you see us Cali folks bust out our puffer coats and Uggs. When the sun hides we dig deep for our winter wear. Today I opted for my favorite Fall/ Winter sweater! Tera cotta chunky sweater and brown boots make for a cute and cozy winter ensemble!
Digital prints, peplum and a cool combo of feminine accents on masculine pieces. Yup that’s this summer in a nutshell. And for me and Ashley Tisdale some Wildfox sweaters.
Whitney Port I really feel is the unsung fashion hero of the Southern California fashion world. And what I appreciate about her is I feel her insight on the fashion world just comes naturally. She knows what works best for her, and she nails her outfits EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Even the knot bun works for her (which is so signature to a girl on the go.)
Last adventure to Barnes and Noble I put her style book back, partly because I have all of Lauren Conrad’s and I didn’t feel as though I needed another Hills star telling me blue jeans are necessary to every wardrobe. But after this interview maybe I’ll go back and look beyond the cover. Or I could just go buy a new Whitney Eve piece. Decisions decisions.
