Rather recently I made the best investment and finally got a Disney Pass. I spent roughly 4 years working there and before that a lifetime devoted to all things Disney. I fondly recall getting $50 from my Grandma for a birthday gift and exclaiming to my cousin that I couldn’t wait to invest in this Disney Art book that I had been eying for months. “$50 on a book?!” he exclaimed! But it’s such a pretty book! And full of amazing art work!
Fuzzy plus fuzzy= Fabulous
Well because of that book I no longer need to invest in art. Rather I make my own Disney artwork thank you very much! However, I have the most fun putting together Disney outfits. Which can be quite a predicament when trying to cater to unpredictable So. Cal weather but alas I try. Today’s outfit was slightly inspired by both Minnie and of course Princess Aurora. Get it? Rose skirt? Briar Rose? If I have to explain further then perhaps you should stop reading further. Obviously, one need not have to invest in Chanel or Valentino to stand out at Disneyland. But rather the better off your outfit works with Mouse ears, the more in style you are. I love how shocked my friends were today when I explained this lovely pink pair were my first. It took quite a while to decide. To go classic black and red? Or to commit to the limited edition Little Mermaid (my favorite princess?) Alas, in the end I decided to commit to the color scheme that works best with not just my wardrobe but my favorite color. As you can see, as always and forever whenever pink is in the conversation it wins every time. I still have roughly 11 months to put together magical ensembles! Who should I conjure inspiration from next?! I’m thinking maybe Alice or Ariel.
This picture does not do how incredibly fierce this hat really was justice. Yes, this is a hat and not a tutu. And yes it has mouse ears. Oh and why yes my glasses are Prada.

The daily routine of deciding what to wear for the day becomes exhausting sometimes. Especially when you have so many great options for layering during frigid temperatures. Sometimes it’s hard for a girly girl who loves her dresses to find a compromise during severely cold winter days. (Yesterday it was only 40 DEGREES! I had to ask a co-worker what they thought the miniature temperature was before one died of hypothermia. I was delightfully informed I was nowhere near being in danger of such a death.) While today I started with a high-waisted pleated skirt, I stepped outside for two seconds and realized that would not work. Alas, I scoured the Wildfox section of my closet and was saved (quite literally the fashion angels in my head rejoiced with glee.)
Not only are Wildfox sweaters super comfy, but they are so cute and girly too! Initially when this sweater caught my eye I thought it was a unicorn. A purple unicorn sweater?! Yes please! But alas, it’s just a horse of many different colors. Still equally amazing, and still the perfect compromise for ridiculously cold winter days. Cute meet the cold! On the chilliest of days I’m thinking even an accenting colored collared shirt (say that 5 times fast) would not only compliment and add pizzaz to the piece but would also add warmth. That might perhaps be one of my greatest ideas, like ever.
My favorite ballet flats in the whole world courtesy of Miu Miu. I’ve worn them to the point of near permanent damage. You might notice the missing stone on the left shoe. I assure you it’s tucked away safe in my jewelry box. I would have lost it if were not for the kind-hearted bus boy at a resteraunt who chased after me saying “Miss! Your diamond!”
Pink bracelet, beaded by me. Purple bracelet by Tarina Tarantino. Ring a gift from my Aunt Jodi.
A sparkly pink headband?! This piece had me at sparkly, and committed at pink. Thank you Charming Charley!

So perhaps it’s because I’m no longer able to shop at Limited Too (Or Justice For Girls) I guess is what it’s called these days, that I’ve decided it’s time to sophisticate my wardrobe with some classic pieces. Don’t get me wrong! I still love my sparkle and fluffy dresses but there comes a time in one’s life where eventually you have to embrace reality and except the fact that tutu’s are no longer acceptable for every day wear. I’ll just have to save those for the weekends I’m off.
I’m obsessed with Equipment! The go to label for mens favorite button down look for women. And how cute is this top! A bow! I can still achieve the mature chic look women have loved since forever, while still maintaining my favorite girly accents. And I guess I’m embracing the whole girly masculine look because I invested in my first pair of boyfriend jeans. And when I need to infuse my own style that can only be described as “Just Jess” there’s always super cute accessories! Thank you Forever 21 for making fun and affordable statement pieces to jazz up even the most basic pieces fun!

One of the best things about Fall is re-conceptualizing some of my Spring and Summer favorites. My Vigoss mint green and white pin striped jeans are amongst my favorite in my denim collection, and for whatever reason I feel compelled to accessorize them regardless of the season with my floral embellished newsboy cap. During Spring and cool Summer days, they work perfect with a white tank or short sleeved top. Today, I felt like combining it with my poofy sleeved, Princess inspired Red Valentino top, and of course my go to Miu Miu ballet flats, which more than likely I’ll have to reconsider once the rain starts.
I love the sleeves on my Red Valentino top! I remember trying it on and thinking “Cinderella! I must have this!”
And my most favorite part of Fall (I know I say that a lot but let’s face it, Fall has the potential to be one of the greatest seasons because of all the perks it brings) is all my different coat options! If I’m feeling like a rock star and rebellious, the obvious choice is leather. If I’m feeling romantic and girly, a peacoat. Today I opted for my Vince button down. A wise investment from last Spring that just seemed to work perfect for today. I feel as though it exuded a sense of chic mystery. I’m not going to lie, at some point I realized my outfit was a costume option for a modern day girly Sherlock Holmes.
I love Autumn days. It took everything I had not to scoop up the leaves and throw them up in the air. Instead I’ll opt for a Pumpkin Spice Late. I suppose it’s the grown ups highlight of a cool Autumn Day.
I suppose these are my go to flats for Fall.

So Fall is officially here! And I’ve already gained at least 5 pounds since Pumpkin Spice lattes made their seasonal debut on the Starbucks menu. And since my sweaters are somewhere buried in the depths of my closet, I’ve had to consciously take in to consideration pieces to invest in. First piece being this uhhmaaazzing A.L.C sweater!
I learned my lesson last winter. Desert winters are SIGNIFICANTLY different than LA winters. So coats from Forever 21 are just no longer an option. Thus, I’ve invested in a full on wool coat by Akris Punto. Can’t wait to debut that later on!
In the mean time I’ve decided knitted sweaters are a must! And believe it or not I’ve been finding a ridiculous amount of good deals on these as of lately. Did you know sweaters are actually sold during the summer? As someone who grew up relatively close enough to the beach, or at least close enough to where an ocean breeze was a deciding factor on exactly how many wardrobe changes I had to carry with me throughout the day, this makes total sense. Light weight sweaters are essential for us coastal gals all year round. However, typically during the summer we see these items come in more vibrant colors. Naturally, a lot of these pieces have been marked down and I love bright colors anyways! While yes, it is important to invest in certain fall staples (still working on some high-waisted black leather shorts) I can’t go the entire season without some happy colorful pieces. It’s not me.
The newest addition to my ballet flat collection! Hello Miu Miu, you’re so pretty and sparkly and I love you!

It kills me that the predominant colors in my dress code for work are black and white. But sometimes, on rare occasions I find ways to jazz up even the most mundane colors on the color wheel.
Typically I infuse splashes of color with shoes, jewelry or a sparkly head piece of some sorts. But sometimes, classic is classic and today I discovered you can never go wrong with a lace, pearls and peplum.
This would even be a perfect day into night piece! If you’re thinking to yourself this ensemble would have been perfect with a pair of heels, you better believe I had my Prada peep toes in my bag in the event I felt inspired to jazz things up at some point during the day.
Celebrities who look pretty in peplum too.
Bow top by Free Generation and patent leather bow flats by Miu Miu
We are officially less then a month away from Christmas and what better way to celebrate the holidays then by decorating yourself with bows! Truth be told, I’d love to give credit for this obsession entirely to the holidays but if you know me, you know that I live up to my self proclaimed title of an all around girly girl. Thus you can pretty much find me wearing bows any time of the year. It just so happens that this time of year I wear these closet favorites just a little more often then other signature pieces of mine.
I’m hoping that my Miu Miu flats were made of magic leather and will last forever. And my Free Generation black satin bow top has been a holiday attire favorite for the past 2 years. What does that tell me? Bows are classic! These days you can find them perfectly and eloquently placed on everything from tights, bags, blouses, dresses, shoes, hair accessories, cell phones…well pretty much everything!
Tarina Tarantino grosgrain ribbon bow available at Tarina Tarantino
My biggest weakness seems to be bows in the form of sparkly jewelry. You know you have a problem when you walk into a Tarina Tarantino boutique and the whole team knows your name. Or even worst when your favorite boutique hunts you down to let you know that they got a new shipment of pieces you don’t have! Needless to say Tarina and Betsey Johnson are my go to gals when looking to get a fix of sparkle and all around fabulousness, and this season they have to die for designs that are influenced by, you guessed it BOWS!
