Perhaps it’s because I saw Blackfish and have been more of an advocate for animals than I’ve ever been my whole life, or maybe it’s just because I’ve always been a firm believer in giving back. Or maybe it’s because I’ve subscribed to more animal advocacy Facebook Pages than a normal person and my feed is an ongoing sad puppy commercial. Either way, I do love me a label that gives back and benefits a good cause. Just like if you purchase a pair of Toms shoes, this company gives back to one of 8 great organizations. I was so excited to tell my boyfriend that my shopping helped save puppies and pandas! (Actually if I read that the most recent contributions helped a set of alligators at Los Angeles’ Wildlife Waystation. Not as fluffy but still cool.) My boyfriend just looked at me like I was crazy and told me if I didn’t stop shopping I would end up like a homeless puppy.
I had no idea this label was about promoting global awareness and assistance for great causes through their Signorelli Movement Foundation until I noticed the tag saying something about a donation. Then my curiosity led me to their website. According to Foundation’s website, their mission is to “inspire our rising generation to give back to the world in which we live. The Signorelli Movement Foundation inspires and educates young people to create abundance and pay it forward for themselves and their communities through programs and opportunities our foundation provides. We aspire for people of all ages to be touched by our work.” Truthfully, I just really want to go to the Safari Park I pass on the way to work every day and I thought this top would be perfect. That, plus it kind of reminded me of a cool Lisa Frank print. For those of you who were deprived of the awesomeness of the 80’s and 90’s Lisa Frank was the best thing to happen to girly girl’s who appreciated cute animals and bright colors. Google it. However, once I learned there was more to this label than comfiness, and cute designs I could not wait to share! I can’t wait to invest in more pieces and see what more great things fashionable choices accomplish!
Each purchase of a Signorelli top goes towards one of these 8 organizations. There is nothing better than looking good and feeling good for helping with a good cause. Each Signorelli piece comes with a barcode to be scanned. By scanning the barcode a donation is made to the cause of your choice. I was seriously bummed my barcode didn’t work. If it did, I think I would be torn between the Cause For Paws, and Wildlife Adoption Program.

So this newest update is no longer me being the proud self proclaimed drama queen that I am, it is OFFICIALLY summer! The only difference this means for me really is that I have more to look forward too. More days at Disneyland, more days spent laying on the beach, swimsuit posts, (insert gasp here) the possibilities for true blue (or in my case mostly pink) So. Cal fashion are endless. They say that you can’t wear white after Labor Day, but on this first week of summer I thought what better way to celebrate than in my favorite white ensemble.
Sun dresses are my absolute favorite summer piece. Like I’ve said many times before, I am a girly girl and I live for longer sunnier days when the expectation from a fashion perspective is to wear pretty frilly dresses and embellish with bright floral accessories. So is it a surprise to anyone that Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons? Granted, I can be seen wearing this items all year round but it so much easier to shop for this pieces during this time of the year. Also, confession time, this is the year I usually indulge far too much in accessories. I have a horrible over indulgent problem of when I can’t make up my mind on something not taking one but two. For example, you’ve probably noticed the sunglasses I’m wearing in this post, in other posts but in black. Coco Chanel didn’t decide on just black or white so she opted for both, so why can’t I? I don’t believe in living life with regrets and while I would have regretted having to choose one over the other, I do not regret having two pairs of fabulous and perfect sparkly Prada sunnies.
I’d like to say I can now start wearing all white since it is now officially summer, but let’s face it. It’s summer almost all year round in so cal. Hence this is my official welcome summer outfit!
Pretty dresses and floral accessories. Is there any better combo?

Rather recently I made the best investment and finally got a Disney Pass. I spent roughly 4 years working there and before that a lifetime devoted to all things Disney. I fondly recall getting $50 from my Grandma for a birthday gift and exclaiming to my cousin that I couldn’t wait to invest in this Disney Art book that I had been eying for months. “$50 on a book?!” he exclaimed! But it’s such a pretty book! And full of amazing art work!
Fuzzy plus fuzzy= Fabulous
Well because of that book I no longer need to invest in art. Rather I make my own Disney artwork thank you very much! However, I have the most fun putting together Disney outfits. Which can be quite a predicament when trying to cater to unpredictable So. Cal weather but alas I try. Today’s outfit was slightly inspired by both Minnie and of course Princess Aurora. Get it? Rose skirt? Briar Rose? If I have to explain further then perhaps you should stop reading further. Obviously, one need not have to invest in Chanel or Valentino to stand out at Disneyland. But rather the better off your outfit works with Mouse ears, the more in style you are. I love how shocked my friends were today when I explained this lovely pink pair were my first. It took quite a while to decide. To go classic black and red? Or to commit to the limited edition Little Mermaid (my favorite princess?) Alas, in the end I decided to commit to the color scheme that works best with not just my wardrobe but my favorite color. As you can see, as always and forever whenever pink is in the conversation it wins every time. I still have roughly 11 months to put together magical ensembles! Who should I conjure inspiration from next?! I’m thinking maybe Alice or Ariel.
This picture does not do how incredibly fierce this hat really was justice. Yes, this is a hat and not a tutu. And yes it has mouse ears. Oh and why yes my glasses are Prada.

Sometimes the weather inspires an outfit, other times it’s the plans for the day. Today I only had one plan in mind and that was to just be out and about. Today’s subtle gust of wind blew us to Downtown Temecula. I love going Downtown, simply for the ambiance. There’s a sense of freedom and independence that exudes from the old buildings. I love the smell of BBQ that overflows that air, stemming from the good ol’ mom and pop burger shops that in any other big town would probably be far and few, and one of those best kept secret kind of things. But not in this town. This town takes pride on things that are home-grown. Although since moving to this neighborhood, despite my previously mentioned observation I have yet to find a good farmers market. (As of this blog post the best farmers market I have yet to experience is the one held at Victoria Garden’s in Rancho every Friday.) Either way, it’s definitely and Old America experience. Perhaps that’s why they call it “Old Town.”
Flower Crown: By Just Jess (aka Me)
Dress: H &M
Sandals: Elizabeth and James
So after realizing my favorite accessory for the coming season is a flower crown/ headband, I decided the best thing for myself and my bank account is to learn how to make the item myself. I’ve always had a knack for arts and crafts, and when I found this step by step Youtube tutorial, I practically skipped to the closest Michael’s to get my supplies.
The procedure is simple. Gather your favorite flowers from your neighborhood craft store (as of this blog post Michael’s is running a 40% off sale. Yup, you’re welcome!) Snip your favorite petals, or in my case I pulled, and glue the flower to a piece of elastic. While I LOVE the end result, and some critique from the BF I’ve decided my next attempt at this will involve some twine and maybe even some leather, for a more au natural look.
Stay tune to see how the rest of the collection turned out! I might even start putting some up on my Etsy account.

What happens when layering becomes a necessity and you’ve invested in a perfect summer ensemble because of an amazing Cyber Monday sale? This outfit! That’s what! Perhaps it is because of the meme floating around cyber space that depicts the cast of “American Horror Story” that I decided on Wednesday’s I too, wear black. Or because my inner Rachel Zoe was dying to be unleashed. Either way, I’m in love with this outfit.
I’ve been obsessing over Haute Look and their trend jewelry. My newest addition this lovely floral gem from Eye Candy.
I’ve been heads over 6 inch heels in love with the sheer overlay maxi dress ever since I saw the concept strut down the runway earlier this Spring. Initially, the fact that this look was conceptualized and envisioned for the Fall didn’t really bother me. After all, we’ve been in this season for well over two months now, and just recently have scarves and layers truly been necessary. But, taking into consideration the recent string of cold days I began questioning my recent investment. So after careful thought and consideration I still think major props are owed to those designers who envisioned this earlier this year. It works perfect for those warm days and even those days when layering is necessary. Today, it was 70 degrees. I can work with 70 degrees, and thus decided to add layers with tights and my favorite summer denim jacket. The best thing about this dress? It captures those amazing brisk fall breezes perfectly. I love dresses that pass the “poof” test.
So even much to my surprise, H&M chose to debut their designer looks for less at the Paris Fashion Week. And the designers really brought their A game! Frills, metallics and faux furs (which are much appreciated at the moment after watching one of PETA’S animal cruelty videos. Never been an actual fan of fur but never touching a fur piece, ever again!)
So according to the looks below my theory that black is timeless and goes with every season is proven true. Gasp! Love the all black ensemble! Black knee high boots, a fall essential. Time is of the essence fashion lovers! And right now all these fall staples are on clearance at your favorite department stores! Stock up! Also, apparently the train conductor hat formerly made famous by Ms. Britney Spears circa 2000 is making a comeback.
Long story short, I have not been this excited about an H&M collection since Lanvin announced their collaboration.
Black leather shorts is one of my favorite transition from summer into fall looks! Whether they are paired with knee high boots or combat boots this look is so dual and works for so many different occasions! Rocked this look to a punk rock show with combat boots and killed it! who said you have to look frumpy surrounded by a mohawk crowd!
I’ll be curious to see if any other labels embrace the Sgt. Pepper look. While I adore the embroidered look it could easily go the cheap looking route with the slightest use of cheap cuts and even cheaper fabrics.
Apparently this sheer skirt overlay is going to be one of the hottest trends for Fall 2013! Thank you Max Azria!
To be truthful embellishments works for my wardrobe, any time any season. And unlike some other labels that specialize in designer looks for less, H&M pieces actually last more then 2 laundry cycles.
black on black is so chic and classic. you can never go wrong. My only objection to this look is I’ll probably have to drop a lot of pounds to fit into a size 4 (H&M why do your sizes run so small?)
This heavy faux fur ivory coat with black trim is on my Christmas list already.
