Don’t get me wrong. I love a minimalistic collection/ piece just as much as Kanye West loves, well Kanye, however sometimes a girl can’t help but look for something with a little more pizaz. Enter in Voyage Clothing. An LA based company imagined and brought to life by designer Brittany Belz, whose mission is to take her “customers on a Voyage by creating an eclectic, worldly inspired collection that portrays the cultures, colors and styles of different cities and places she has either traveled to or admired.” Such a philosophy is admirable and appreciated in my book.

One of the easier parts of being a fashion blogger is finding that super cute outfits from Top Shop or Zara and photographing it in your back yard, or some equally photogenic local destination. That was typically the inspiration that is drawn out from cute skater skirts and the ever so classic and timeless jeans and t-shirt combo. A simple backdrop for a simple outfit. However, one of the truly remarkable characteristics of Voyage Clothing pieces is they truly inspire an adventure worthy of the piece. Truthfully dear readers, I had envisioned this adorable “Honolulu Hoodie” many a times. I contemplated a shoot either at the beach, or a harbor, or even Palm Springs! But alas, I knew an ordinary blogging adventure was not sufficient for such a fabulous piece. An adventurous piece required an equally epic story to accompany the first time wearing it.  And wouldn’t you know adventure and appreciation of travel around the world is just what the designer had in mind.

Based out of LA, (designed and manufactured) Belz gets the So Cal fashionista. Yes, one can have a million simple tops but if one wants to stand out, one must learn to be different. And different can be achieved with so many different pieces, and levels of adventure with this label. Whether it be a wild accent such as my favorite Hawaiian printed hoodie, or something more traditional with a subtle statement accent such as the Cortu Denim contrast tee, there is something to inspire even the most basic days and help one stand out in a crowd of stylish angels. Try on one of their paces and attempt to resist the urge to immerse yourself in scenery of palm trees and or ruggedness I dare you. Currently their pieces can be purchased on their website, Voyageclothing.com. And fun fact, their Fall 2015 collection just recently launched and trust me, it is sure to bring out the Veruka Salt in you and make you say “I want that.”

One of the newest piece from Voyage Clothing's Fall 2015 collection. And also perhaps my next investment. I've been dying to find the perfect piece to wear to the LA County fair and this has such an occasion written all over it.

First and foremost, disclaimer if you plan on visiting Disneyland in the coming weeks. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Almost everything is closed for refurbishment right now. Critter Country is closed. Peter Pan, The Matterhorn and a slew of other park favorites are CLOSED! Which wouldn’t be an issue except with half the park closed that means attendees now have limited options for entertainment thus everyone is now waiting in line for Pirates. Seriously, you know the traffic situation is out of control when that line is longer than 15 minutes. Yesterday, it was a 40 minute wait. However, if you must get your Disney fix, California Adventure is a great option. Not nearly as crowded and the Little Mermaid is still only a 5 minute wait.

Ok, now moving on. So it’s officially almost Spring! Although let’s be honest it’s felt that way in good ol’ So Cal for at least a month now and I couldn’t be more thrilled. There are so many great trends this season, and floral prints and jumpsuits are among my favorite. So imagine my delight when I came across this uber cute floral jumpsuit! I had contemplated investing in an all denim romper but alas it was too long and I took that as a sign it was perhaps wiser to invest in the more feminine choice. And that after all is what Spring is all about! Floral patterns, soft color palettes, and flowy fabrics! Of course you can add a little edge by infusing darker shades like I did here with my black large brimmed hat, but alas it was a perfect, fashionable choice to protect my face on a bright sunny zippity dooo da day. And it works perfect for those rogue cloudy blustery days too. I like to think this piece will be versatile even as I transition out of Summer and into Fall, as it can be paired then with some black wedged ankle booties and a crimson shade of lipstick. As I’ve said before, you know you’ve invested in a good piece when the styling options are not only endless, but seasonless as well.

The Cherry Blossoms in bloom at Disneyland were breathtaking. I couldn’t see the critters of Critter Country but these pretty pink blooms were a nice and refreshing substitution.

Hippie Chic On A Hot Day

The selling point of this personal closet favorite was obviously the embellishments.

Happy Daylight Savings Day! While I hate the fact that we lost an hour of sleep today (thank you Jesus for allowing me to have the day off!) I LOVE that we are just that much closer to Spring and Summer! So much to look forward to these coming months and the best part? Sun dresses, swimsuits and sunnies! Ok that last one I’ll admit I wear all year long but at least now it’ll be justified! (Yes, I’m that girl that wears sunglasses even on a cloudy day.)

And today could not have been more perfect! While I get it’s not officially Spring for at least a few more weeks, Mother Nature is clearly getting a head start. Seriously, 80 degrees while it’s still technically supposed to be Winter? I’ll never leave you So. Cal! Looking at my wardrobe I somehow seem to be lacking in the sundress department. Not quite sure how that happened. But still, this Hautie Hippie dress has always been one of my favorites. Perhaps that is why I don’t have tons of sundress. I have a handful of very detailed, and equally fragile pieces that I wear only on certain occasions. Not too fancy for a wedding per se, but rather for days when I just like celebrating the sunshine. And today was obviously no exception! Happy Sunday ya’all!

Sometimes the weather inspires an outfit, other times it’s the plans for the day. Today I only had one plan in mind and that was to just be out and about. Today’s subtle gust of wind blew us to Downtown Temecula. I love going Downtown, simply for the ambiance. There’s a sense of freedom and independence that exudes from the old buildings. I love the smell of BBQ that overflows that air, stemming from the good ol’ mom and pop burger shops that in any other big town would probably be far and few, and one of those best kept secret kind of things. But not in this town. This town takes pride on things that are home-grown. Although since moving to this neighborhood, despite my previously mentioned observation I have yet to find a good farmers market. (As of this blog post the best farmers market I have yet to experience is the one held at Victoria Garden’s in Rancho every Friday.) Either way, it’s definitely and Old America experience. Perhaps that’s why they call it “Old Town.”

I know this may come as a shock to some, but believe it or not I grew up the daughter of a dead head. How I ended up the crazy Backstreet/ Britney loving soul I am today is still a mystery to all. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that my dad decided it was no longer lucrative to be a dead head, and thus somehow Paula Abdul was introduced to my life. Go figure, but thanks Mom! I think. Nonetheless, despite an affinity for couture, and pop, the hippie lifestyle is in my blood. I’ve always been fascinated by the hippie culture. Perhaps this is the reason till this day I still consider myself a free spirit.

Thus, sometimes my inner hippie is released. Ya cage her up for so long she comes out in full force. Today being no exception.

One of the easiest ways to achieve the hippie look is to throw on a gypsy headband as seen on these trend setters.
