New Year, New Me

Your eyes do not deceive you, I have finally traded my blonde locks in for what I can only describe as a strawberry bronde. I have been stopped a few times since the transition that was at least 12 years in the making and thus I must give a shout out to my miracle worker of a hair stylist, Diego at La Mode salon in Menifee, CA. I showed him a picture of former blonde bombshell Ashley Tisdale who also fairly recently joined the ginger club and I am beyond thrilled, he practically matched it! Master of color he is.

Once I looked in the mirror after the transformation I couldn’t help but smile and think of my sister who has literally been on my case to change my signature blonde locks since I started the highlight process almost 12 years ago. I would like to point out it took a few years to perfect my blonde, which was perhaps the main reason it took so long to consider a new color. But trust me, I’m glad I waited and didn’t just bleach my hair right off the bat. And thank you to my old stylist Jenette for educating me on the proper way to transition from dark to light without doing permanent damage.

Alas, a new hair style isn’t the only thing this fashionista has been looking forward too. All this blustery weather has me counting down the days till I can bust out my favorite Spring pieces. Skirts, dresses, floral prints and pastels….GAH! I’m counting down the days!

Trend Alert: Designer Graphic Tees

Trend Alert: Designer Graphic Tees

So it’s no secret I’m obsessed with trends. I’m a self diagnosed “shopaholic” but is there such a thing as being a fashion-a-holic? I should look look in to this.

One of the greatest things I stumbled upon today was this picture of Ashley Tisdale wearing this “Celfie” tee. Obviously a play on Celine. One of the biggest trends I’ve noticed lately is plaster a fashion house typically affiliated with top quality material on basic tees, tanks and yes even canvas! Considering Chanel made a name for herself by being one of the first to master the use of jersey, I really don’t think she minds. Karl Langerfield on the other hand, his eyes are probably rolling behind his dark shades.

Naturally I immediately immersed myself in to an intense google search only to be led to another blogger/ designer, Sincerely Jules. And with my luck this ridiculously cute tee that is only $35 aka practically free, is sold out. Ugh. I guess I’ll just have to wait till the stock is replenished.

This “Celfie” tee is not the first nor the last graphic tee we’ve seen recently. Interpretations of the double C logo have been gracing tanks and tees in small boutiques for some time now. And who can forget the “Ain’t Laurent without the Yves” shirt.

Believe it or not this shirt is only $10 on ebay. I have my reservations about $10 shirts cotton, yikes!

Ugh, I guess if I can’t have this one I’ll settle for the Dimepiece “Too Cool Shirt.” Why settle for one designer when you can have them all?

Is it summer yet?

Is it summer yet?

Ashley Tisdale was one of the pioneers in the fringed *L Space bikini top last summer

Ok, this So. Cal gal has had enough of being cold. I have pretty dresses and cute tanks in my closet that are getting tired of just hanging around. And I’m tired of the rain.

Last weekend it was 80 degrees! I had friends that were lounging on the sunny beaches in January (one of the many reasons I will never ever leave Cali.) But that wonderful weather got me thinking, about what to start shopping for for this summers uniform for lounging by the pool.

I must admit, last year the bar was set when Ashley Tisdale was spotted wearing an *L Space fringed neon yellow bikini on the beaches in Malibu to celebrate her birthday. Did I immediately want one? Heck yes!

I’ve actually LOVED these bikini’s ever since I saw them on the runway 2 summers ago at OC Weekly’s annual summer soiree event. But leave it to one of my favorite trend setters to convince me this *L Space piece is not only to die for, but a must have. Also a friendly reminder that summer is not too far away and I should have started hitting the gym hard like yesterday!

Style tips to keep in mind when shopping for a swim suit.

1. Keep it classy, not trashy.
2. Have fun with it! I personally love to mix and match pieces. And let’s face it swim suits can get to be pretty expensive. For example, the piece that is haunting my summer dreams is the fringed bikini top which starts at a price point of about $73 (available at However, keep in mind H&M usually starts their swim suits off at a price point of about $5! Why not invest in an uber cute top and then get multiple bottoms from a more economical friendly retailer? The pros of this? Not only will you have a one of a kind piece, but you’ll also be able to invest in multiple pieces to change up the look!

Last summer I bedazzled a pink bikini from Victoria Secret to make sure my piece was unique and one of a kind. Ugh, is it summer yet?

Rain rain go away. Or on second thought, hang around until I can afford to invest in one of these cute pieces.

My WILD obsession…

Ashley Tisdale clearly one of Wildfox’s biggest fans

Perhaps you’ve noticed your favorite trend setters sporting some pretty sassy graphic tee’s this past year. Hearts, stars, fun sayings splashed across a tank or cozy sweater. And whom exactly are Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens and various others turning to for their fashionable digs? Ummm Wildfox, duh!

In case you have been living under a very dull and boring, black and white rock the past year you have completely missed this trend!  I’ll have to admit I was a little skeptical when I first encountered these tee’s/ sweaters. Really $80 for a t-shirt? You can go to any Forever 21 or H&M and get an equally cute graphic tee for probably no more than $5 or $10. Looking back I can’t believe how incredibly naive I was!

Putting a Wildfox top on is like putting on a cloud, that’s been sprinkled with sugar plumb fairy magic. Yes. It is really that freaking awesome! They are the coziest, cutest top you will ever introduce to your closet. Perhaps one of the most magical things about these must have wardrobe staples is how incredibly flattering they are…on EVERYONE! When I think of sweatshirts I think of work out attire (which can also be cute. Rule number one oh fabulous ones, just because you’re getting grosse does not mean you can’t look cute.) Let’s face it, typically sweatshirts are associated with frumpiness, which these tops are anything but.

Even if paired with a basic pair of denim jeans, I feel as though the quirky edge that is captured in each graphic print plastered across the front of each ensemble is the perfect element to add to one of the most basic articles of clothing. One of my favorite fashionistas who seems to be unofficial representation for the label always seems to pair these super cute blouses with the perfect accessories. Whether it’s a classic Chanel bag, fringed boots, or funky print shorts, she always seems to find the perfect match to complete the outfit.

Oh and FYI, the label also extends beyond graphic tee’s to equally AMAZING dresses, bottoms, jewelry and even sunglasses.

One of the things I love most about these collections is that they encourage the wearer to live up to the label- and that’s to have fun and be wild with fashion.
