It is extremely rare, double emphasis on extremely that I represent my High School colors. I was never a cheer leader, nor did I really want to be. I only went to a handful of football games and have less than fond memories sitting on the bleachers…in the rain. I never really understood the hype. I was genuinely the kind of student who enjoyed going to school to GASP, LEARN!
Nonetheless, now that I’ve moved on from my home town of La Mirada, I had to make a stop on my way home from LA the other day. I pulled over to the In N Out located just off the 5 Freeway, and didn’t realize how home sick I was until I walked in and the tiny little restraunt was filled with my alma mater colors. The color scheme that once made me gag at the sight of, almost brought tears to my eyes. La Mirada folk are truly one of a kind. We may have a reputation for being a bit, off. But we mean well and looking back now I would not have chosen to grow up in any other city.
Personally I think these colors actually go really well together. I’d choose royal blue paired with yellow any day! Plus yellow looks dramatically better on leather pants than a tight mini skirt or a hand made scrunchy any day.
Now you know how I feel about your school colors, but I must admit that they look really good on you! This is such a cute outfit and yes we may be a bit off but we are all truly one of a kind. And growing up or being born in La Mirada makes us all special! Love the outfit Jess, you are truly rockin this one!!
I know I know, you’re a neff girl. And yes la Mirada folk are definitely special lol. Thanks for the love aunt Jodi!
How did your boyfriend react to your leather pants? 😉
He actually approved!!!! Slowly but surely he’s learning to appreciate my “investments.”
Jess I love your blog. It makes me happy to see how beautiful you are each and everyday. But I love your stories. Tell Boo that the signature hats make this aunt realize how stylish and classy her niece truly is. Love you honey.
Haha thanks aunt Sharon! And I will def tell him!
