When I was younger it was tradition to head to my Grandma’s in a brand new floral puffy dress, usually with lots of tulle, lace socks that folded over, and brand new shoes. Not only was Easter a celebration of the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ, but it was also a chance for my mom to prove to the world that me and my sisters cleaned up pretty nice.
Well even though I’m all grown up, and my mother is no longer around, this is one of my favorite traditions of hers that I love to keep alive. While I always debate on going uber glam, or very girly this year hippie chic won.
For my Easter ensemble this year I chose an ivory lace, maxi dress by Willow and Clay. I think this might be a new Easter tradition for me! Typically white is a color of starting new, and considering the first day of Spring established itself on the calendar a little more then a week ago, what better way to celebrate one of my favorite seasons, then with the re-introduction of white into my wardrobe!
Also, in the Spirit of Spring, I absolutely had to wear a flower. My floral head piece by Tarina Tarantio was the perfect piece to satisfy this need! Since the dress was inspired by a Greek Goddess/ hippie esque look, I chose my vintage crystal necklace by Saks Fifth Avenue. What better way then to complete the look then by adding a ring by the hippie boho chic queen herself, Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow collection.
I take that back, the one thing that completed me and always will was my other half, my best friend and partner in life, my Christopher. Whoever said love was the best label was absolutely right. It looks great on everyone, and never goes out of style.
